The Lanagan, Missouri, area is a popular tourist destination because of its location near not only the Ozarks, but also underground caves and multiple state and national forests. Despite its popularity, Lanagan has remained a close-knit community that is warm and friendly to visitors coming to enjoy the area's great outdoors. The town itself is small; only about 420 people call it home. However, the settlement is very close together, offering quick travel between neighbors. About 170 families live in the area, making every visit a true small-town experience.
