The town of Bentley, Kansas is situated just to the northwest of Wichita in an area largely comprised of rural farmland and wide open spaces. Just minutes away from Highway 96 and Interstate 135, Bentley offers quiet streets and a friendly small-town vibe. The residential areas of Bentley have been growing and improving in recent years, with a new addition recently being developed on the east side of town. The history of Bentley dates back to the 1880's, when Orsemus Hills Bentley, a lawyer and historian, moved to the area. As a board member for the Kansas Midland Railway, Orsemus Hills Bentley was well known in the area, especially when the railroad was brought through Bentley. Today, Bentley is a quiet reminder of small-town USA, with less than 500 residents. Even so, Bentley is conveniently located in the crux of three modern-day larger cities - Wichita, Hutchinson, and Newton.
