Rogers is a suburban city located in Benton County, Arkansas, and is a part of the Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers Metropolitan Area This northwest corner of Arkansas is one of the fastest growing locals in the nation. The four-county Northwest Arkansas Metropolitan Statistical Area sits in the 109th position in terms of population in the United States.
Established in 1881, Rogers was and named after Captain Charles Warrington Rogers, the vice-president and general manager of the St. Louis and San Francisco Railway. This town was the location of the first Wal-Mart store. Wal-Mart's corporate headquarters is actually located nearby in neighboring Bentonville, Arkansas. Known for its air rifles, Daisy Outdoor Products has its headquarters and a popular Air Rifle Museum in Rogers.
Rogers, Arkansas, has been the recipient of two notable awards. BusinessWeek magazine ranked the city 18th in its list of the 25 best affordable suburbs in the American South in June 2007. CNN Money ranked Rogers 10th on their list of 100 Best Places to Live in 2010.
