Commerce
Vivacious, historic, and flamboyant, the multicultural town of Commerce, Texas is a gregarious sort of place. It sits in the heart of the state, just outside the cosmopolitan city of Dallas, and a short drive from the glimmering waters of Lake Cooper. A popular university town, Commerce was first settled back in the 1800s. These days its best known for its lively festivals, fascinating ranchlands, and for its abundance of indigenous Bois D’arc trees.
The folks down here are friendly, and it’s the sort of town where something’s always going on. From the weekly markets with freshly harvested crops, to the revving of engines at truck shows, you simply don’t have time to be bored here. The residential areas are a mishmash of brick-built single-family homes, and pretty wooden shiplap houses along quiet, leafy avenues, while down on Live Oak Street you’ll find quaint cafes, gas stations, and independent boutique shopping to explore.
