Hilton Head Island
Hilton Head is a city located on Hilton Head Island, in Beaufort County, South Carolina. It is known for being a resort town, and the site of some amazing wildlife viewing and boating. The island is located just northeast of Savannah, Georgia, about 20 miles away, and is home to about 12 miles of beachfront on the Atlantic Ocean. Tourists drop millions of dollars there every year, and locals experience a huge swell in population because of the amount of people who move there in the summer. Normally the year-round population is less than 40,000, but in the summer it can rise to almost 300,000.
