Garner
Garner is a suburb of Raleigh, North Carolina and is located in Wake County. The town is part of the larger Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill Metropolitan Area and was begun in 1847 with the establishment there of the North Carolina Railroad. There is documentation of people living there, from church records found, since the mid-1700s. Though the city didn't play a major role in the Civil War, it is well-known that there were a few skirmishes there. Garner, though small, has experienced continuous growth and prosperity since its beginnings.
