Myrtle Beach
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is a popular coastal city situated on the Grand Strand - a large, continuous stretch of beach in the northeastern part of the state. Myrtle Beach, which is separated by the Intracoastal Waterway from the continental U.S., is a man-made island, constructed in 1936. It was incorporated as city in 1957 and has grown into a major tourist destination on the East Coast over the decades.
