Lincoln
Lincoln is the capital of the state of Nebraska. It is also the second largest city in the state following Omaha. The city of Lincoln was originally named “Lancaster” when founded in 1856. It was the first county to be created in the Nebraska area. The village was known for its salt flats and its marshes. The city name was changed in honor of the assassinated President Lincoln in a backhanded attempt to undermine the mixed sentiments in the area following the Civil War. Nonetheless, today Lincoln is listed as the healthiest and happiest city in America with a multitude of restaurants and activities for you to enjoy.
