Hawthorne
Nestled in the southwest corner of Los Angeles County is Hawthorne, California. Close in proximity to Redondo Beach, Inglewood, and Lawndale, Hawthorne is a large, thriving city with a lot to offer. The history of Hawthorne dates back to the 16th Century when Indians inhabited the area. After several changes of ownership, growth of agriculture, and development of industry, Hawthorne was incorporated in 1922 and has since become a hub of commerce, entertainment, and tourism. With just under 87,000 residents, Hawthorne continues to grow and provide convenient access to many nearby attractions and popular destinations. Music enthusiasts may recognize Hawthorne as the hometown of the popular band The Beach Boys, while sports-lovers may know that Jim Thorpe hails from here.
