Santa Ana
Located adjacent to the Santa Ana River, Santa Ana, California is the county seat of Orange County and is part of the Greater Los Angeles Area. Located 10 miles from the California coast, the city experiences a hot-summer Mediterranean climate, featuring warm, dry summers and mild, wet winters.
Santa Ana has several distinct districts, with the core of the city being the downtown area. North of downtown is the Midtown district, which is home to several entertainment locations, such as MainPlace Mall and Bowers Museum. The newly designated Metro East area is located near the intersection of the Santa Ana Freeway and the Costa Mesa Freeway. There is little retail or housing in this area, but it is currently occupied by several office towers. The city’s south end is part of the South Coast Metro area, shared with the city of Costa Mesa. The primary destination of this area is South Coast Plaza, a major shopping center. Santa Ana houses major regional headquarters for the Xerox corporation, and is the corporate headquarters for several companies, including CoreLogic, Kern’s, and First American Corporation.
