Oxnard

Wilson is not officially the name of an area of town in Oxnard, but it is considered, unofficially, the to be the neighborhood that lies just north of Oxnard's city center and located within this area is Wilson Park and the Wilson Senior Center. Oxnard itself is a beautifully bustling city in Ventura County. Right to the south of Oxnard one can find the infamous Malibu, California with surfer-lined beaches and amazing hiking trails. In addition, Ventura County has a lot of farmland and horse trails. To the north one can find Santa Barbara, California - the famous city known for its wine tasting, art crawls, and musical venues. Oxnard itself feels like a normal middle-American town with shopping centers, a variety of housing, and various chain restaurants. Dig deeper, however, and visitors will find an immense amount of culture, local attractions, and unique activities in which to participate. In fact, like its neighboring cities, Oxnard has its own wine tasting, horse trails, gourmet restaurants, and its fair share of surfers too. The weather is beautiful most of the year, and the neighborhood of Wilson is easily accessible via both the 1 Highway and the 101 Highway making it not only a great place to stop in while traveling, but also a great place to stay for a while, and perhaps even to live. At the Wilson Senior Center, some are finding it a great place to retire. Located within Wilson Park, the Wilson Senior Center offers a variety of recreational activities for senior citizens. In fact, they have a jam-packed calendar filled with dances and gatherings, book club meetings, ZUMBA classes and even the chance to get a pedicure. The center also offers educational services teaching seniors how to adjust the seats in their car, file for new health insurance, and even gain financial and legal advice. It is a wonderful service offered to residence and perhaps one of Wilson's best features.
