Cincinnati
The 3rd largest city in the state, Cincinnati, Ohio, is one of the most important economic centers of the region. It is home to several diverse, large corporations including Proctor and Gamble, Macy's, Kroger's, American Financial Group, and Omnicare. The culture of the city has over the years been strongly influenced by a history of Irish and German immigrants. That also might account for why Cincinnati is known for being ranked in the Top 10 of Forbes Magazine's American Hard Drinking Cities.
Cincinnati today is known as city with a large collection of historic architecture. The Over-the-Rhine neighborhood north of downtown is famous for Italianate architecture, and reminds many of neighborhoods in New York City, and Venice, Italy. Examples include the Music Hall, the Shilito Department Store, and the Cincinnatian Hotel.
Cincinnati has long been a port as it is located on the north bank of the Ohio River, and today the city is working to expand waterfront developments. The city is home to the University of Cincinnati, so there is a good mix of young students in the population mix, who enjoy all of the fun that goes on here after dark. There is wealth of culture and art here to please all ages.
