Gainesville
Gainesville is a small city located in Hall County, Georgia. With a population of less than 40,000 today, it makes up part of the Georgia Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city has been called “Queen City of the Mountains,” and more recently, “The Poultry Capital of the World” due to the large number of poultry processing plants located there. Gainesville used to be called “Mule Camp Springs” when it was established in the 1800s and was the site of a Gold Rush that occurred there in the 1830s.
